8th May 2013: OLS students participated in a painting and slogan competition organized by the Red Cross Society, Kullu at Dev Sadan Kullu.
OLS family joined our nation in paying homage to this great soul on his 153rd birthday and the centenary year of winning the Nobel prize.

RED CROSS PAINTING & SLOGAN COMPETITION
8th May 2013: OLS students participated in a painting and slogan competition organized by the Red Cross Society, Kullu at Dev Sadan Kullu. Ojasvini Thakur (9A) won the second prize in English Slogan Writing. Nancy Verma (9A) was awarded a consolation prize in Hindi Slogan Writing. Congratulations to all the participants.

BIRTH DAY OF RABINDRANATH TAGORE
7th May 2013: Rabindranath Tagore, the Nobel laureate, writer, philosopher was the ambassador of Indian culture to the rest of the world. He is probably the most prominent figure in the cultural world of Indian subcontinent and the first Asian to be awarded with the Nobel prize. He was a humanist and a naturalist and promoted those wonderful values that build up a human person. OLS family joined our nation in paying homage to this great soul on his 153rd birthday and the centenary year of winning the Nobel prize.

1ST May 2013: Work is love made visible. Honouring those who labour for us should become part and parcel of our human nature. Here at OLS, we accept and promote the dignity of human labour because every work when done with honesty and dedication pleases God and brings joy into the lives of those with whom we live and work. For the members of the OLS family, this was a day set apart to pay our respect to the non-teaching staff and acknowledge their contributions to our institution.

25 – 27 April 2013: “Books are the quietest and most constant of friends; they are the most accessible and wisest of counselors, and the most patient of teachers.” says Charles William Eliot, an American academic. Intending to create an interest among students in reading good books and to inculcate in them a habit of reading, OLS held a Book Fair in the school auditorium from 25th to 27th of April. The Fair was organized by the Scholastic India Pvt. Ltd.

22nd April 2013: OLS School commemorated the Earth Day by planting trees in the forest premises at Pirdi. The Principal, the staff, the members of Eco and Social Service clubs, on behalf of the school, emphasized strongly that we need to take care of the mother earth as stewards not as its masters. The trees planted numbered twenty five. The event witnessed the presence of the people of neighborhood and Forest Department officials. It became a joint venture as some of the workers came forward to help in planting trees. At the end of the programme refreshment was served for all.

FAREWELL TO MRS. KAMLESH MARWAH & MRS. SUPRIYA KATOCH by SENIORS
On 6th April 2013, OLS officially bid farewell to two of its stalwarts: Mrs. Kamlesh Marwah and Mrs. Supriya Katoch. Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay and leave an everlasting impression on our hearts. Mrs. Kamlesh and Mrs. Supriya have been two such teachers who have enriched the lives of every individual at OLS. A moving farewell function held at the auditorium revealed how much both these teachers mean to the OLS family. The sentiments of love and appreciation found their vivid expressions in emotional speeches, melodious songs and colourful dances. Sweet will be the memory of these dear teachers! Like the mellow rays of the departing sun, it will fall tenderly, yet sadly on our hearts.

5th April 2013: A heart-rending farewell was given to our beloved teachers, Mrs. Supriya & Mrs. Kamlesh by our juniors today. Through a well animated school assembly by class V students, they expressed their feelings of love and gratitude to them. The bright morning turned out to be very moving as both the teachers verbalized their emotions of love and gratitude. OLS family will always hold these two magnificent personalities in great esteem and keep them dear to it’s heart.

NEW COMERS BEGIN THEIR PRODUCTIVE INNINGS IN OLS
On 12TH March, O.L.S. welcomed its newcomers to prepare them for their morrow with great zest and exuberance. O.L.S. is a home away from home and it wishes:

The little ones started their educational adventure by writing the first Greek alphabet ‘Alpha’ very aptly reminding us of the presence and blessings of God at the commencement of any human endeavour.

O.L.S. - ALL SET FOR THE SMART ERA
On 4th March, 2013 once again OLS rises up to the challenge of teaching todays Gen-Z. The scholastic year kicked off with a note of spirituality, invoking the spirit of the Lord to guide along the path of Virtute et Labore.
The first day of the new scholastic year started with a welcome assembly by class IX A. God’s blessings were invoked by lighting the lamp and offering the arti. The children were inspired to look forward to an educational adventure ahead by the welcome speech given by Mrityunjay Singh Parasher. The latest member of the OLS family Fr. John Henry was felicitated by Rev. Fr. Davis.
With the latest technology at hand and the unconditional support of the Rev. Fr. Davis, the staff and the students of OLS are all set to carve a niche for themselves.
